Zyxel NSA325 V1

Post by PB1212 »

Does (one of) the USB sticks have a led, and can you see it's accessed?

Yes some have a LED, who does not shine, two times very short, by booting.
I think the 5V is missing. The power supply is fine, I have tested it.

This is the 'official' rescue key, which ZyXEL provided years ago, and it's known to work. The nsa310 is older that the 325, and it has the same flash layout. 'They' simply exchanged the firmware to adapt an 310 key to a 325 key.

You know only the back ports are supposed to work? The driver for the front (usb3) port is not yet loaded when the stick is accessed.

It is possible that your box has broken DC/DC converters. The powersupply supplies 12V (or 18? Can't remember), but the box needs a variety of voltages. 3.3V for the CPU, 5V for USB & harddisk, 12V for the harddisk, and maybe 1.8V for the memory. The main board contains some DC/DC converters for that, and yes, they can fail. In that case the box can be considered dead, although theoretically you could exchange the DC/DC converter.

I have checked the board, some DC/DC converters I have found are ok. The board becomes from psu 12V- voltages from 12 - 5 - 3,3 - 1,2 - 1 are aviable.
I think the board is dead
Thanks for helping.
